With a singular focus on power efficiency, IXYS has spent the last 15 years exploring alternative and renewable energy sources. During that time, IXYS became one of the first suppliers of power semiconductor chips to control the high voltage conversion from wind power to the electric grid. The company also developed the first integrated solar cells that generate 4v to 12v of electricity to charge batteries in portable products.
